Cox Chiropractic Medicine Inc Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your Fort Wayne chiropractor knows your spine! Cox Chiropractic Medicine Inc knows anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor studied much about anatomy of the spine and utilizes that knowledge every day. Knowing the anatomy of the spine is continually at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient walks through the door! It’s so exciting! (Are you not you happy someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

Going through school, we were all guilty of learning only to pass a test. When in professional school, such learning is more important than ever since it will impact everyday work. (How much do you remember from your high school or college days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists found that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy teaching during chiropractic education was advantageous for clinical practice, allowing better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical information to justify a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian study of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners rated their knowledge of anatomy and proved it in a test showing their knowledge. This was compared to the equivalent in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they retained their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – breaking the thought that chiropractic practitioners may not keep it after school. Knowledge of anatomy is utilized daily in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors understand their anatomy. (2) Your Fort Wayne chiropractor does! We’ll be happy to talk about it!

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Applying spinal manipulation daily applies knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most common reasons people reported seeking chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The most common treatment they experienced were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get plenty of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But positive side effects of chiropractic care materialize in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers reported on the immediate effects of upper thoracic spine manual therapy on cardiovascular autonomic control of patients with musculoskeletal pain (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers stated that musculoskeletal pain increased the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come feel these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on knowledge of the spine’s anatomy.
